Over the course of a 20-plus-year career in hospitality, Tyler has worked for some of the most successful restaurant brands in New York City. Starting as a server in Keith McNally's original Pastis, Tyler quickly grew to become General Manager for several of Kieth’s restaurants. After working for 14 years in McNally’s restaurants, Tyler moved onto Director of Operations for Empellon Restaurants. There he reported directly to the Chef-Owner and led the reopening of all of the group’s restaurants through the challenges of the Covid 19. In addition, during his time, he led the opening of several new restaurants for Empellon.
Tyler’s journey within the New York restaurant world has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations and the nuances of guest service. Tyler’s expertise consists of: opening restaurants, staff training, creating and executing restaurant Standar Operating Procedures, Department of Labor laws, HR practices, P&L creation and evaluation, revenue growth and improving guest experiences.
A graduate of Trinity College, Tyler combines his academic foundation with hands-on expertise to create new restaurants and improve existing ones. His operational skills and keen knowledge of what makes for amazing guest experiences have allowed him to lead teams successfully, fostering an environment of growth and excellence.
Tyler is dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences, driving cultural excellence, and developing highly motivated teams. His work ethic, pragmatic approach to problem-solving, ability to train, cultivate team-building, along with his command of restaurant operations and unstinting commitment to the guests’ experience set Tyler apart in this most competitive of industries.
